The Minister of Basic Education, Professor Laurent Serge ETOUNDI NGOA, accompanied by some close collaborators from different Ministerial departments in his Ministry granted an audience in his cabinet, today Thursday the 11th of July 2024 to four officials of “The Mentor Solution Sarl”. After the warm welcome by the minister, the team was given the floor to explain the purpose of their visit. Mr. NKOUNA OBAM Samuel, the Technical Consultant, sitting in for the general manager, explained that the vision of their project is to digitalize education at all levels. He further explained that they had come to present a platform for controlling and managing schools as well as tracking learners’ activities, and this is available already on smartphones, tablets, and PC. This package he emphasised included programmes on school management, pedagogic management, parental control and monitoring, and online payments of services and products. From his presentation, the Minister made them understand that a project of this nature had been initiated in the Ministry three years ago. He instructed the competent authority from the inspection general of education in general and the department of educational technology in particular to go through the proposed project and see what can be adopted so as to add value to what the ministry already got. He concluded that it would be through the observations and remarks from these experts that a way forward will be arrived at for any further collaboration.
