On behalf of Professor Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa, Dr Vivian Asheri Kilo, Secretary of State to the Minister of Basic Education, received in audience on Thursday, October 17, 2024, Mrs. Marie MOLINIE, Team Leader for Democratic Governance, Peace and Security at the European Union. She was leading a delegation of Global Gateway experts on a mission to Cameroon since October 14, 2024. The objective of this meeting was to take stock of the progress of the workshop to develop the country action plan for technical assistance of the Regional Facility for Teachers in Africa (RFTA). In her introductory remarks, the Secretary of State welcomed all the interest that this technical and financial partner has shown in the Cameroonian Basic Education sector, before giving the floor to her guests. To this end, Mr. Michel Monluc, Team Leader of the mission, recalled the relevance of Cameroon’s Request thanks to the relevance of the four areas: Initial Teacher Training, Continuing Teacher Training, Teacher Governance Framework and Digitalization; which led to the meeting this Thursday. It was also an opportunity to present the summary of the country action plan, the implementation of which is scheduled to begin in January 2025 for the first phase. An opportunity well seized to request an institutional partnership, in order to guarantee the efficiency of this collaboration.
