DECENTRALIZED SERVICES

 

Placed under the authority of a Regional Delegate, the Regional Delegate for Basic Education is responsible for:

–         coordination of educational activities in preschool, primary, literacy and non-formal education;

–         monitoring the operation of Decentralized Services, Preschool, Primary Establishments and Literacy Centers;

–         monitoring the application of current teaching programs and methods;

–         the fight against corruption in schools;

–         monitoring the training of personnel within its area of responsibility;

–         the preparation of acts relating to the assignment and transfer of personnel within its jurisdiction;

–         the evaluation of personnel placed under his responsibility;

–         the appointment after approval of the Minister of Basic Education, Directors of Public Primary and Nursery Schools;

–         the signing and delivery of the Certificate of Primary Studies and the First School Leaving Certificate;

–        the organization and conduct of exams and competitions;

–         the promotion of the school;

–         monitoring of Basic Private Education;

–         the regional synthesis of statistical data;

–         the organization and monitoring of Post- and Extra-School Activities;

–         the effectiveness of free access to public primary school;

–         monitoring and controlling the execution of powers transferred by the State to municipalities in matters of basic education.

She understands :

–         the Reception, Mail, Liaison and Translation Department;

–         the Education Coordination Inspection;

–         the General Affairs Sub-Directorate;

–         the Sub-Directorate of Examinations and Competitions;

–         the School Establishments Service;

–         the Service of Community Preschool Centers, Literacy and Non-formal Basic Education;

–         the School Card, Sport and Post- and    Extracurricular Activities Service;

–         the Learner Standards and Assessment Service.
