Placed under the authority of an Inspector General, the General Inspectorate of Services is responsible for:

– the evaluation of the performance of the services in relation to the objectives set, in conjunction with the Secretary General;

– internal control and evaluation of the operation of central and decentralized services, schools, institutes and related projects, as well as advisory bodies of the Ministry;

– information from the Minister on the quality of the operation and performance of the services;

– the evaluation of the application of organizational techniques and methods, as well as the simplification of administrative work, in conjunction with the departments responsible for Administrative Reform;

In carrying out control and evaluation missions, the Inspector General and the Service Inspectors have access to all documents of the controlled services.

As such, they can:

–         request information, explanations or documents from those responsible for the controlled services who are required to respond within the set deadlines;

–         have, on an ad hoc basis, the necessary personnel from other departments of the Ministry;

–         request, if necessary, after advice from the Minister, the public force in order to lend them a helping hand or to identify attacks on public property.

Each inspection or control mission results in the drafting of a report addressed to the Minister with a copy to the Secretary General. The Minister sends a copy of this report to the Minister in charge of Administrative Reform and to the Minister in charge of Higher State Control.

The Minister sends a quarterly control report as well as the annual activity report of the General Inspection of Services to the Prime Minister, Head of Government.
