This evening, 28 Feb 2023, H.E. Prof Laurent Serge  Etoundi Ngoa   granted  audience to Ms Lylian C. Peraza Rios, Vice President  of One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) Non-government Organisation based in the United States of America.  She was accompanied by her African coordinator, Mr Rwagaju Desiré. They came to Cameroon to evaluate closed to 7000 devices deployed in some 51 primary schools in 2013 and also to express their desire to accompany the Ministry in the implementation of the ICT strategy for the sub-sector. This time around,  they wish to set up a factory in Cameroon to manufacture the device on the spot, deployed them in school,  train teachers etc.  In response,  the Minister welcomed the initiative and expressed the desire to do his best for the project to succeed. If the project is successfully implemented in Cameroon,  it will not only facilitate the implementation of ICT in schools at reduced cost but will also offer jobs to young Cameroonians and technology transfer. The Minister promised to look at the project proposal with competent services once OLPC submits.
